Vichy Idealia Life Serum*

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to all things skin care related, but I really have been trying to make an effort to look after my skin lately. One thing I constantly find myself reaching for is the Vichy Idealia Life Serum*! I never thought I would find myself using a serum on an everyday basis, as to me they sort of just sounded like a ploy to make more money. However, I have been completely proved wrong by this little beauty.

Serums are so much lighter than your standard moisturiser, they sink a lot deeper and quicker into your skin and therefore have a lot more benefits. However they do come with a hefty price tag but last so much longer. I have used this pretty much everyday (when I feel I need that extra oomph) since I got this around 2/3 months and I still have a lot left in the bottom of the bottle. And at £29.50 I should think so too.

This serum is amazing if you have had one to many nights out as it has been clinically proven to improve the look of skin that has been exposed to daily excess such as overstressed skin, pollution, uv overexposed and unbalanced diet. This is due to the red and gold reflective pigments in the serum which make your skin look glowing and healthy.  It is also suitable for sensitive skin - a major plus for me - as normal strong products irritate my skin. Not only is it good for sensitive skin, it actually smells amazing. Something you don't find with many products and it can make your skincare routine a little boring and clinical feeling. But not with this!
As you can see from the swatch it looks a lot like a cream but is really more of a light gel, with a pretty pink pearlescent colouring which you can see even more when you start to rub it in. This then evens out to a subtle but apparently glow to your skin, a bit like MAC Strobe Cream but much less intense and light. I always think my foundation looks so much nicer and me a lot healthy after I have been using this.  I am so impressed with this product and I think I will have to buy myself another bottle when this runs out!

Christmas Gift Guide For Him

It is that time of year where we get to buy presents for our loved ones and rush around like headless chickens trying to pick them out. By gifts for guys is really hard, I mean birthdays are hard enough right? So here is a little list of things that I bought my boyfriend for his birthday two weeks ago and a couple extras, maybe you're boyfriend/brother/dad will like them too?

Ted Baker Wallet// £50 My boyfriend was unfortunate enough I was lucky enough for Chris to lose his wallet the week before his birthday. So I thought I would grab the opportunity to get him a nice leather wallet that he hopefully wont lose this time. This one is really similar to the wallet I got Chris (I didn't want to put up his or he would see the price) except his was black and a different texture of leather and he loves his!
FIFA 14 Limited Edition Xbox 360 Controller// £24.99 If your boyfriend, like mine, spends the majority of his life on his xbox this is the present for him. Its a different controller that is really light and just damn right pretty cool. Oh and the little detail that it is a FIFA so most boys will be forever thankful over it.
The Dark Night Trilogy Boxset// £18 OR Breaking Bad Complete Boxset// £52.99 Chris and I are obsessed with comic book movies and The Dark Knight Trilogy is arguable the best, or if he's not into that kind of thing The Breaking Bad boxset is such good value for all 5 seasons. And what boy didn't love that series?
Vo5 Extreme Style Washbag// £12 Their favourite hair gel. There are so many mens hair gel kits that include the hair gel and matching shampoo's ect and they are normally super good value. I think this is perfect for a stocking filler and isn't something that is on most guys shopping list.
SMS Audio DJ Pauly D STREET Full Size Headphones// £199.95 Okay, so this is the big one. Chris has been wanting some full size headphones for a while now, and to be honest so have I. I think it is so worth investing in a good pair of headphones because of the sheer quality of them.
Disaronno Mug Set// £10 Again another stocking filler type present. BHS always have amazing alcoholic gift sets. This mug set is perfect for Christmas or there are plenty of set with alcohol and there matching glasses. (please only buy alcohol if you are over 18, don't want to get you in any trouble!)
Disposable Camera// £8.50 This is a more personal present. I gave Chris a disposable camera and photo album to take pictures of his birthday weekend with. I think it will be nice to not have the instant photos we are so accustomed to now-a-days. Then they can get the pictures printed and have a hardcopy that you can stick on the wall instead of on Instagram!
Vans Waffle Iphone 5 Case by Belkin// £18 A good phone case can be pretty expensive, so why not treat him to one this Christmas? This Vans phone case is slip proof (so I've heard) and it is made by Belkin so its not just a 'fashion phone case'.

Although blogging is still relatively new in my life it has changed it in a exciting way. I have got to attend some amazing events, go to meet ups and met some absolutely lovely people. So THANK YOU, every single on of you, for taking the time to sit and read my ramblings.

As soon as I hit 100 followers I knew I wanted to do a little giveaway to say thank you. I've sat and wondered what I should give away and finally ended up with this.

REVIEW | L’oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim

When it comes to eyeliner I have always sworn by the felt tip liner. My obsession started when I tried Colorsport 24 Hour Black Eyeliner, I loved the thin line I could achieve with it. Unfortunately it wasn't black black (you know what I mean by that) and the staying power, not so great. After trying A LOT of other felt tip liners I have found my new favorite! L'oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black.
What I love about this is that I can do my eyeliner pretty much perfect every time. Maybe I have just finally learnt to do it better, but I want to believe it is the eyeliner okay? It has a really firm nib which makes it one hundred times easier to apply a thin even liner on EACH eye. That's right not one eye, both, so you don't end up up looking like this:
 We've all been there
But end up a little more like this ...
[apologies for the 'shopping bags' under my eyes, it was a lazy no makeup day]
Not only does it have the perfect nib but it also is aesthetically pleasing, which is almost as important to me as the product. Sad but true. I love how the glossy black casing with gold trimmings makes it look really expensive, when its only £6.99. It also has a matte black grip, which makes it a little easier to hold and therefore easier to draw the perfect line.
Being able to get different thicknesses by simply applying more or less pressure is music to my ears and  something that I've found difficult with other felt tip eyeliners. Plus the intestity of the colour doesn't change that much with the thickness of the line! Talking about pigmentation; it is called Intense Black and IS intense black! Wahoo, a product that finally lives up to its pigment promises oh my god I am sad. Plus, the staying power is amazing for a non-waterproof product. The amount of times I have cried had watery eyes and it hasn't budged until I have taken a makeup wipe to it.

Overall it is a huge thumbs up from me, so if you are looking for a new felt tip liner and see this in store, I would definitely suggest picking it up. I have actually been complement on my eyeliner because of this bad boy - not often that happens I tell yaa.

Halloween Round Up

WARNING, this post is heavily loaded with pictures. As you can guess by the title this is a Halloween post! I know I know this is 20 days late, but I have finally got around to editing the pictures, writing this up, blah blah blah ... please stop me rambling. Anyway, I did have a load of Halloween tutorials to put up, but I was moving and everything was so manic I just had no time to get them up. But it seemed a shame for them to go to waste, so why not put them up 20 days after Halloween? because it is not normal sophy.

Day of the Dead Bride
This look was inspired by the beautiful YouTube beauty guru Nicole Guerriero, as she did a really cute version and I just wanted to do my own. My sister was really patient having this done, so I HAD to put this up. How mean would it be if she sat there for an hour and I did nothing with the pictures?
What is Halloween without a sexy vampire look? Messy hair, bruised looking eyes, and a load of blood... perfect. Oh, and I magically managed to create a gif, without actually doing anything but it looks kinda cool!
This Halloween Lauren wanted to be a devil (very fitting for her) and even though she didn't do this makeup for her costume, I just wanted to have some fun with red makeup. I love this because it clashes beautifully with her green eyes.
A few Halloween night snaps.
Now, just to warn you all of these were taken whilst my boyfriend (Chris), his housemate (Richie) & I where a little horrendously drunk.
All the looks that I created were mainly face paint based, so they are so easy to create. Halloween is one of my favourite nights of the year so I had to do at least one post dedicated to it, even if I missed the boat. Better late then never, right?

Budget & Extravagant Bucket List

Hello lovelies, this is a super quick post as I have just been tagged in Money Supermarkets Budget Bucket List by the lovely Belle of Mascara and Maltesers (go check out her blog it is lovely)! So I thought I would bite the bullet, have a go and hopefully get my entry in in time. This competition is inspired by the 2007 film 'The Bucket List' where Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman worked their way through a list of ambitions and objectives before they ‘kicked the bucket’. The question is what are mine? Only being able to select two (one budget and the other as extravagant as you wish) is crazy as I have a list as long as my arm, but I manage to wangle it down.

To be kissed on top of the Eiffel Tower and leave a lock on the Pont de l'Archevêché....
I have visited Paris before when I was around 13 and thought it was one of the most beautiful place I had ever been too. I guess is it sort of an extravagant thing to do, and a little cliché but it would be something you would remember for the rest of your life. Can you really put a price on memories? I guess what is really stopping me is the fact that I wouldn't want to plan it myself, but for it to be a suprise. Who wouldn't want to be whisked away to Paris, kissed on top of the Eiffel Tower and then leave a lock on the Pont de l'ArchevêchéIt would be magical .

To travel around the continent of Oceania...
Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Guam, Hawaii, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, American Samoa, Cook Islands, North Polynesia, Niue, Pitcairn, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu.

I think travelling Oceania would be the most incredible experience that I could ever imagine. From snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, to thrusting yourself into the culture of all the little islands of the Polynesia. It is a huge thing that I would love to cross off on my Bucket List. Obviously the cost of this trip is absolutely crazy, but to even be able to do half of this would be the dream of a life time.

The 3 Bloggers I Nominate Are:
  1. Emma - The Brunette Beauty Blogger
  2. Rebecca - Flores y Moda
  3. Katie - Subtle Coral
Hurry if you want to enter though as the entry finished today (see the rules here). Sorry for the late tags but I did only just get tag around an hour and a bit ago ha!

REVIEW | Lash Perfect Lash Extensions

As most of you know, if you read my blog, Scarlett and I went off to the Sleep-in Rollers RollerFest on the 23rd July. Whilst at the event we naughtily popped out to go and get our lashes done at the 'Lash Perfect Lash Bar' just off Carnaby Street. The Lash Bar itself is really serene, bright and calming which is a huge contrast from being in Central London. Falsies for me are normally a night out thing as they add so much to your makeup, however I've never been one to wear them in the day. However, when Scarlett sent me an email asking if I wanted to go with her and try out semi-permanent lash extensions I jumped at the chance as I have heard really mixed reviews on lash extensions.

Upon arrival,  the ladies working there were so lovely and made you feel really welcome - which is a huge contrast to some salons I have been too where I have been made to feel like I really didn't belong. They offered us drinks and got us to fill out a form specifying what we wanted our lash extensions to look like and do for us. I naturally have relatively long lashes anyway, but being me I wanted longer, thicker lashes so that it would look like I was wearing mascara - and I am so impressed with the results!

They also answered all our questions on the lashes without hesitation, which really did reassure (as if being featured on Vogue.co.uk Beauty wasn't enough!). As we had been offered a half set, I instantly thought of 'half set false lashes' where the corners off your lashes are enhanced. However, the ladies explained to us that you can create a full lash look without being to heavy with just a half set - perfect.
Excited to get started we where lead down the stairs into the treatment room, which was so luxious and made you feel like you were in for a real treat. The treatment beds didn't fail either, they were so comfortable and I may have actually had to wake myself up a few times thoughout the treatment sorry not sorry. It is a compliment, honestly, as it means the treatment is completely pain free and you feel really comfortable in the room. So thank you to the girls for making us feel so welcome!

The treatment took around an hour to complete, but as I said you fall asleep and feel completely relaxed so I doesn't seem that long at all, and costs £65. These also last around 4 weeks, however you will notice a difference around the 2 week mark as they fall out with your natural lash cycle. But if you are getting them for a special occasion they are perfect.

These are my results...
just with a coat of mascara on (sorry for the facepaint I was off to EDC)
Apologies for the awful 'photobooth' picture!
They look so much fuller and longer and I just love them! I would recommend these to anyone who wants eyelashes extensions. I have had them on for nearly a week now and I have no problems with them at all. They are so light weight that I cannot even feel that they are on my lashes, you just have to be careful with them otherwise you could break the bonds. I am so impressed and definitely would consider getting the done again.
After Care
  • Do not pull off the lashes, if you need them removed contact a Lash Perfect professional. This will not effect your natural lashes.
  • Do not perm/tint your lashes.
  • Eyelash curlers should not be used.
  • Mascara should not be used as it will break the bond.
  • Gently comb your lashes everyday with an eyelash brush or comb.
  • Oil skincare products may break the bond so avoid oil based products as much as possible.
Personally I think using no oily products and not wearing mascara are small prices to pay. And considering you have fabulous lashes now anyway, you won't even need mascara!
Couple Snaps of the Salon
As you can see the salon is just as gorgeous as the treatment room and I would recommend Lash Bar in a heart beat. There staff are just lovely and so talented, it safe to say they really do care about what they do. Thank you so much for having me and giving me the perfect lustrous lashes I've always wanted. If you would like to make any enquiries at the Lash Bar please click here for there website.
