Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara // £19.50
I haven't used a Benefit mascara since BADgal when I was about 13, if I remember correctly it got flakely and smudged by the end of the day. Which is why I was so happy to see this sample in Elle! And even though you've read a hundred reviews since Roller Lash made its debut early this year, another one can't hurt right .. ?

'It’s a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll™ brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls…while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours.'

Grabs ✓ separates  lifts ✓ curl ✓. I love this mascara, it does exactly what it says on the box - not to mention how pretty the box is. It holds and lifts my long lashes all day, which is something that no other mascara does. As well as leaving no clumps, as the 'hook n roll' brush grabs every single on of my lashes and makes them look ink black and super long. This also makes it amazing for your bottom lashes and the skinny wand (which is not something I normally go for) makes its really easy to apply.

However, there are some minor-ish things that I don't like about it too, like the really wet formula. I'm someone who likes 'dry mascara's' is that even a thing?! so I can build up the layers quickly and without to much mess. So I do have to scrape quite a lot of product off the brush and leave it for 30 seconds before I use it. It's a pain, but sometimes a girl needs to make sacrifices for all day curl. I also find it quite hard to remove, aka I can't get it off with a makeup wipe *beauty bloggers scream in terror* and I actually have to use my ultra bland cleanser. I think this is because of the water resistant and satin finish as it keeps the lashes feeling conditioned and you don't feel like they may snap if you rub to hard.

Despite the bad qualities I still absolutely love this mascara and still grab it every time I need my lashes to stay in place all day. At £19.50 it is pretty pricey but I honestly think I'll be going out to buy a replacement as soon as this runs out!

REVIEW | Secret Garden Bath Bomb

Secret Garden Bath Bomb £2.95
Whilst shopping in Lush a few weeks ago, I saw this cute green beauty with pink power flowers on each side and new I just had to have it. It just looks so 70's and it smells like roses, whats not to love?

I'm not one for baths normally, but there is something about a Lush Bath Bomb that gets me a little bit excited. I love how their bath bombs are packed with natural oils and have huge benefits for your skin. Secret Garden is full of Rose Absolute; Orange Oil; Marigold and Rose Petals; which are supposed to balance, relax, sooth and tone the skin. Not to mention smell absolutely amazing!

Once in the bath it turned a beautiful bright green colour with an explosion of flower petals, which where small enough not to clog up your drain afterwards - always a bonus. I think this may be one of my favourite bath bombs I have tried from lush so far, I can't get enough of the smell and how it made my skin feel after. If you love rose smelling products I suggest you go grab this now as its only £2.95 and is the perfect pick me up after a heavy weekend!

Valentines Night In Essentials

Valentines day is tomorrow, and I'm sure you all have plans to smother your latest squeeze, besties, family with tokens of your love. But if you are anything like me the standard dinner and drinks has become more of a routine than 'a special night out'. Does that give you an excuse to sit in your sweats all evening? NO. Whether you are spending the night in with your special someone or are hanging out with the girls there is always time for a little pampering and self love! Here are my 'Valentines Night In' essentials to make sure you have a romantic evening at home too!

  • There is nothing that screams Valentines Day like some Lacy Red Underwear. I don't know about you but new, matching underwear makes you feel like you've got your shit together and on top gives you a confidence boost that will only make you feel sexy.
  • Get out that perfume you have been saving for a special occasion. Wearing an unfamiliar scent will make you more enticing to your other half as it is not your everyday staple. A great excuse to ask for a new bottle and if they've bought it for you, chances are they will love it too.
  • Killer Red Heels. Need I say more?
  • Valentines is the perfect time to have bright red nails without the risk of looking hooker-esque. Red not your colour, try a pink, purple or gold to match the lovey-dovey theme just as well.
  • Finish of your look with a red lip! It will draw your dates attention to your lips, but can make your teeth look brighter (blue under toned). Be sure to use a lip liner to stop it bleeding around your lips and maybe a swipe of lipcote just to make sure it doesn't end up on your teeth!

*Moroccan Rose Rose Diffuser & Votive Set// £20
  • Now to set the mood. I think that candles and reed diffusers are a great way to make your evening cosy and romantic, especially with rose scents. This Moroccan Rose Linea Set* from House of Fraser is beautiful, the scent is strong enough to fill the room with out being overpowering. The candles smell heavenly and the little diffuser lasts for a really long time. This is the perfect set to pick up for valentines and a good chance to try out a few new candles!
  • Chocolate, nothing says 'I love you' more. And they are in a heart shaped tin? How romantic.
  • Last but not least, WINE. Well anything that you both enjoy drinking, you can't have a valentines dinner without it right?

DIY Acid Wash

I'm really excited to share this post with you, simply because IT WORKED. A couple months back I bought some jeans from Primark, washed them and they came out looking like someone had poured bleach all over them! As you can imagine I wasn't too happy, but it gave me the chance to try out Acid Washing - and I now love them! So I thought I would share with you guys how you can also Acid Wash your jeans too!

What You'll Need:
  1. A pair of Jeans/Shorts (whatever you are going to use!)
  2. Bleach
  3. Spray Bottle
  4. Water
As you can see my jeans are all patchy and look like I have already attempted, really badly, to acid wash them. But thats what you get for washing Primark jeans apparently.  I would recommend you doing this outside and on a hot day as it makes it a lot easier to see where the bleach has developed as it dries.

Step #1 - Mix the bleach and water together in the spray bottle. I found about 2 parts bleach 1 part water worked best for my light coloured jeans.
Step #2 - Lay your jeans out and start to spray and dribble the mixture over your jeans until they start to give you the desired effect. If you pull the trigger on the bottle slowly, you will find it dribbles out in splotches giving you the more speckled effect (that I was going for)!
Step #3 - Repeat on the back of your jeans. Then go back and concentrate the bleach more heavily on the pockets, flies, and seams!
Step #4 - Once you are happy with the result, either hand wash^^ or put in the washing machine ALONE, to rinse all the excess bleach out. I then also used fabric softener after I had rinsed them so they wouldn't go crunchy - no body wants that!
Step #5 - Hang out to dry and your are done!

As you can see it is so easy to do and I love the way they turned out; as it means I can actually wear my jeans out again! Have you tried acid washing before? I would love to know if anyone has any more tips!

REVIEW | Sudocrem Skin Care Cream*

Sudocrem Skin Care Cream* 30g // £1.99
One of my skincare secrets that I have sworn by for years is Sudocrem*! We are all familiar with the grey tub and white and red label from our childhood, but Sudocrem recently came out with a handy travelsize squeeze tube for anyone on the go. It is the perfect for you busy mums to sling in your handbag or for you jet setters as it is hand luggage complaint!

This little tube of goodness has always been floating around my house from when my sister and I were little. Right the way up until now, as we still use it on a daily basis. However not for the whole nappy rash use...

I think this is the easiest way to get rid of any imperfections or breakouts. I just do my skincare as normal, avoiding any areas with my moisteriser and then place a layer of this wondercrem  (see what I did there) on my blemish and leave it over night. After it has worked its magic it is almost gone or at least a LOT smaller by the morning! Even the beautiful Cheryl Cole as admitted to using Sudocrem to dry and draw out blemishes saying that "It really does work!"
I've also heard of people with oily/blemish prone skin making a 'sudocrem mask' and leaving it on to sink in to get rid of any bateria that will make them break out.

Eczema/Dry Skin
I have pretty normal skin. Its oily sometimes, dry others and one thing that really helps me when my skin is dry, is sudocrem! You can even apply it to cracked skin as it sooth the areas, you can apply it to minor injuries, due to the antiseptic properties!

Sunburn and Minor Burns
Okay, so we have all sat out in the sun a bit to long and living in England, aftersun is a thing mainly bought for holidays and not really a household must have. However, you can apply Sudocrem to your burn and it will cool and help repair the skin! Magic 'ey. Likewise, when you burn yourself with your straighteners or even on the oven you can whack a bit of this on and voila!

As you can see Sudocrem is a hugely versatile product and definitely a vital ingrediant for my skincare routine!  I would completely recommend picking up a little tube, a must have for anyone who doesn't own one! I mean if good enough for Cheryl, its good enough for us right?
